Student Visionary of the Year

Floyd's Student Visionary of the Year Campaign benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has come to a close. His team, "Cancer's Collapse," took first place in the Golden Gate chapter. Thank you to everyone who contributed. You can read about the gala and more in this blog post.

I Have a College Pal Who...

Blogging tunes: none (at work)

Quick update on a few things.

Turns out I did have a little graft versus host disease.  This is actually a good thing.  My doc put me back up to 0.5mg/day for the Tacrolimus and it went away.  So now we have a threshold for the gvh.  We'll try to go back down to 0.4 again in a month or so.  The goal is to slowly taper, but if gvh shows up, we gotta bump up the dosage to compensate.

The big news is that we're plugging away at our goal to raise $100k for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk!  As of today, with seven days to go, we're at 20% of the team goal.  Clearly we still have a lot to do.

$20k raised as of 10/13/2011 - 5:30pm

Want to get people to fund raise but don't know how to motivate them?  Now you can share my story!  Just point them to this video: http://vimeo.com/30498934 -- this is the video version of the deck I presented at the Light the Night kickoffs at Salesforce.  If you haven't seen it, check it out:

OK, that's it for now.  Gotta catch a Ferry.  Now that the family is back, I gotta get home at a reasonable time.

And, yes, I'm over the Phillies debacle and the Eagles stupidity.  Here's a great picture a friend sent me:

Sometimes ya just gotta laugh.

  2. That video deck is great - nice musical selections (Entangled is perfect for the more serious parts). Not a single picture from the yeP! years though... probably wouldn't buy you any extra sympathy or donations. Maybe that picture of you in your leather garb for the Halloween party.

And hey, you can complain about the Phillies, but they got NOTHING on the Sox this year... greatest choke in history.

This IS your father's Red Sox!

Love ya, man... keep its ass well kicked,

  3. Yeah, I thought about adding one yeP! pic -- maybe that pycho-jg with the mullet at the Tocchet sweater -- but it didn't really seem to fit. College+yeP! just didn't seem relevant for its own section either.

Re: Sox -- you guys has a horrible April and a horrible September. That last night of the regular season was insane. The Phils? With that rotation and 102 reg season wins? Should have much further much faster! (name the movie).
